Welcome to my life!
I created this blog to keep in touch with my friends and family as I drop everything for a year to live in Spain.
I applied for a program to teach English in Spain after finding out a week prior that I was unable to fund the study abroad program I was accepted to in Argentina and Peru... Does God know what He's doing or what?!
"Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." Proverbs 19:21
This program is through The Spanish Embassy. They pay for my cost of living over 8 months while I teach English 12-16 hours a week in the region of Andalucía, Spain for the '11-'12 school year.
I am anxiously waiting for the letter telling me which city I will be living in and what grade level I will be teaching.
I am so ready to live somewhere completely new and immerse myself in the culture I find so fascinating. I've been reading anything I can get my hands on and watching video after video. There is this show called Buenafuente and it is hilarious... from what I can understand. It is a lot like SNL here.
I am nervous about having to find an apartment because from what other people have experienced, it is best not to settle on one until arrival. Basically they are saying to show up to LIVE in Spain with NO WHERE to live? ¡válgame dios!
Also, I need to start practicing my classroom, medical, and bank vocabulary. I feel like I have a lot of blanks to fill in before I am fully prepared.
That's all for now. Hopefully I will hear from the program within the next month so I can get rolling on my Visa application.
Besitos
